ArcelorMittal and Bamesa ink MoU to develop low-carbon projects

Luxembourg-headquartered steelmaker ArcelorMittal has announced that its subsidiary ArcelorMittal Europe’s Flat steel division has signed a memorandum of understanding with Spain-based steel service center to work together on low-carbon projects.

The companies aim to reduce Scope 3 carbon emissions, increase the use of recycled steel in low-carbon emission products, as well as increase the proportion of products manufactured with XCarb® technology.

ArcelorMittal and Bamesa have a number of joint venture steel service center companies, in Morocco, Romania and Turkey.
