Alpha Natural Resources ships 73 million mt of steam coal in 2010

Alpha Natural Resources, Inc., a US-based coal producer, has announced that in 2010 its metallurgical coal shipments reached 11.9 million mt, while its steam coal shipments totaled 73 million mt.

The company said that Alpha's cost of coal sales in the eastern US for the full year 2010 is expected to range from $60.50-61.50 per ton, above the previous guidance range of $57.00-58.50 per ton.  Cost of coal sales in the western US is expected to be between $8.50-8.60 per ton, near the low end of previous guidance range of $8.50-8.90.
