AK Steel marks 15th anniversary of listing on the NYSE

AK Steel Monday celebrated its fifteenth anniversary of trading on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). In a ceremony honoring the occasion, James L. Wainscott, chairman, president and CEO of AK Steel rang the NYSE's opening bell, signifying the start of the trading day.

Ringing the opening bell is an honor accorded to senior executives of NYSE-listed companies, among others.

The common stock of AK Steel began trading on the New York Stock Exchange on April 5, 1995 under the symbol "AKS." Since that time, AK Steel has grown to become a Fortune 500 company, recording about $8 billion in revenues in 2008. The company has also been selected as a member of the S&P 500, aligning it with the best of America's most prominent corporations.
