Ajaokuta Steel Company starts coil wire production

Nigeria-based Ajaokuta Steel Company has recently started producing coil wire, the Ministry of Power and Steel announced. As previously reported by SteelOrbis, in August this year, Ispat Industries acquired management and operational control of Ajaokuta for ten years. The plant began trial operations in late September and the first coil wire production was materialized on October 25. Wire Rod Mill facility of the company is designed to produce 130'000 tons of wire rods and rebars of different diameters. Moreover, the Light Section Mill has also completed the first stage of commissioning. The second stage will be at the end of October.
