9.77 million mt of crude steel capacity eliminated in Hebei in Jan-Oct

In the January-October period of the current year, in the Chinese province of Hebei 12.02 million mt of outdated pig iron production capacity and and 9.77 million mt of crude steel production capacity were eliminated, according to Chinese government sources.

Meanwhile, in the first half of this year, Hebei Province produced 91.2 million mt of pig iron, 98.4 million mt of crude steel and 119 million mt of finished steel, down 4.81 percent, 2.88 percent and up 3.62 percent year on year, respectively.
