The Spanish seamless pipe market has continued to move on an upward trend. Despite slow buying activity, domestic and export quotations of Spanish seamless pipes have increased by €20-30/mt ($27-40/mt) over the past month after the increase recorded in raw material prices in early September. In the import segment, suppliers are pursuing different policies. Prices offered from Italy have increased by €20/mt ($27/mt) over the past month, while quotations of Ukrainian material have remained at previous levels. At the same time, import offers of Chinese seamless pipes have declined by around €10-20/mt (maximum $15/mt) amid soft demand. The prospects for the Spanish seamless pipe market remain mostly gloomy amid the slow recovery of consuming sectors. Market players expect prices to fluctuate during the coming period due to uncertainty in the international market.

Current Spanish domestic prices for 2"-10" hot-formed seamless pipes, grade B made to ASTM A106, are at around €1,000-1,070/mt ($1,330-1,444/mt) ex-works.

Current export prices of Spanish seamless pipes, 2"-10" grade B according to ASTM A106, are varying at around €1,030-1,100/mt ($1,390-1,485/mt) FOB.

Prices for Chinese seamless pipes, 2"-6" grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L, are at about €680-740/mt ($918-999/mt) CFR Spain, exclusive of antidumping duties (in the range of 17.7-39.2 percent depending on the producer).

Offers of September-October production Ukrainian seamless pipes with 42-168 mm diameter of 10, 20 steel grade made to GOST or EN are being given to Spain at €780-800/mt ($1,053-1,080/mt) CPT. Prices are shown exclusive of 12.3-13.8 percent antidumping duty.

Quotations of Italian seamless pipes, 8"-10" grade B made to ASTM A106, to Spain are at €1,100-1,130/mt ($1,485-1,525/mt) CPT.
