Local Chinese steel pipe prices mostly rebound slightly

Local Chinese steel pipe prices have mostly rebounded slightly during the past week.

Chinese domestic seamless pipe prices have moved sideways or up slightly during the past seven days. Overall trading activity has been sluggish, while some prices have moved up by small margins, supported by minor increases seen in prices of billet, though many traders have chosen to keep their quoted prices stable in order to close more deals. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may mostly move sideways.

Chinese domestic welded pipe prices have rebounded slightly during the past week. Overall trading activity has been weak due to the off-season and the adverse weather conditions, while prices have recovered a little amid the upticks seen in prices of steel strip and other raw materials. As for the week ahead, considering the support from the cost side, it is believed that welded pipe prices may indicate further small increases.
