Demand for seamless pipes in Romania remains low. Domestic and export prices for Romanian seamless pipes have decreased by €15-20/mt ($17-22/mt) over the past month due to the continuing sluggishness in demand. At the same time, import offers of seamless pipes from the Czech Republic have decreased by a maximum of €10/mt ($11/mt) over the same period. The expectation is that buying activity in Romania will not revive before September due to the approach of the summer holidays in Europe. Weak demand from local buyers may push down seamless pipe quotations further.

Romanian domestic quotations of 3"-10" seamless pipes made to ASTM or EN are at about €870-880/mt ($957-968/mt) delivered, excluding 24 percent VAT.

Export offers of 3"-10" seamless pipes of grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L are being given by ArcelorMittal Roman to the external markets at around €885-900/mt ($974-990/mt) FCA, while 12" pipes are at levels of €910-925/mt ($1,001-1,018/mt) FCA.

Import offers of 3"-4" seamless pipes from the Czech Republic (ArcelorMittal) of grade B as per ASTM A106 are being given to the Romanian market at €900-920/mt ($990-1,012/mt) CPT.
