During the given week, steel pipe prices have moved sideways amid environmental protection measures and restrictions on logistics. Some pipe producers have implemented maintenance works amid slack demand. Market players have been unwilling to build up stocks for the winter season at present as they think prices have been at relatively high levels. It is thought that steel pipe prices in the Chinese domestic market may edge down slightly in the coming week.

Rebar futures prices at Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) stand at RMB 4,315/mt ($677/mt) on December 29, down by RMB 123/mt ($19.3/mt), or 2.8 percent compared to December 22, while down 0.28 percent compared to the previous trading day, December 28.
