During the given week, steel pipe prices have moved up amid increasing semi-finished steel prices. Demand has not improved as significantly as market players had been expecting, while transaction activities have been better than in August. Production restrictions will continue during the rest of the current year, which will bolster steel pipe prices. It is thought that steel pipe prices may edge up further in the coming week.

Rebar futures prices at Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) stand at RMB 5,518/mt ($843/mt) on September 15, up RMB 66/mt ($10.2/mt) or 1.2 percent from September 8.
