During the given week, steel pipe prices have remained stable amid gradually better demand. Iron ore prices have moved down sharply, weakening the support for steel pipe prices. The downtrend in rebar futures prices over the past two trading days may negatively affect the steel pipe market. However, expected better demand in September will exert a positive impact on steel pipe prices.

Rebar futures prices at Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) stand at RMB 5,242/mt ($810.5/mt) on September 1, up RMB 6/mt ($0.93/mt) or 0.11 percent from August 25.
