The local Chinese steel pipe market prices have continued a stable with downward trend during past week.

Chinese seamless pipe market prices have continued a stable trend during past week. Overall trading activity has been at a low level. Upstream billet prices declined but since the trading activity has slightly increased after holiday period, most traders preferred to keep pipe prices stable for now. As for the coming week, considering that the trading activity went back to low levels and weak raw material prices, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may follow a downtrend.

Chinese welded pipe prices have mostly showed a downtrend during past week. Overall trading activity has been at a low level. Market inventory has increased strongly because of the holidays while downstream demand was weak. As for the week ahead, since the restrictions on stel production may still influence the demand side, it is believed that welded pipe prices may continue following a downtrend.
