The local Chinese steel pipe prices have showed slight increases during the past week.

Chinese seamless pipe prices have mostly moved upward during the past week. Overall trading activity has been weak since certain areas have been influenced by raining and typhoon. Upstream billet prices have showed an upward trend which mainly caused seamless pipe prices to follow. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may see slight increases again.

Chinese welded pipe prices have indicated a slight upward trend during the past week. Upstream steel strip prices have seen rises amid limitation of production volume which lead welded pipe prices mostly to follow. Trading activity has been influenced by bad weather and remains weak. As for the week ahead, considering support from the cost side, it is believed that welded pipe prices may fluctuate with slight increases.
