Chinese pipe market prices hold stable

The local Chinese steel pipe market prices have showed a stable trend during the past week.

Chinese seamless pipe market prices have showed a stable trend during the past week. Overall trading activity has slightly increased and is at a normal level. Upstream billet prices have showed an upward trend but most traders choose to hold the prices stable even offer certain discounts in order to close more deals. Market inventory has been at a normal level and traders are not willing to increase stock level and most keep a wait and see stance. As for the week ahead, it is believed that for the end of the month, seamless pipe market prices may follow a stable with slight downward trend.

Chinese welded pipe market prices have followed a stable trend during past week. Overall trading activity has increased slowly and been at a normal level. With limitation of production volume in Tangshan area, upstream steel strip prices mostly showed an upward trend as well as producers quoted prices of welded pipe. But traders are not willing to increase their quoted prices in order to close more deals and mostly hold a stable trend during the end of the month. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe market prices may continue to see a stable trend with certain grades slightly going upward.
