Buying activity in the Spanish seamless pipe market remains sluggish. Both domestic and export prices for Spanish seamless pipes have stayed almost unchanged in euro terms over the past month despite mixed expectations, but in dollar terms prices have declined by $84-89/mt due to currency fluctuations. Import offers of Chinese and Ukrainian seamless pipes have moved up by €40-50/mt over the past month, while their dollar equivalents have declined by $9-30/mt on the weakening of the euro and lower export offers. Prices for Italian material have increased by a maximum of €20/mt, but prices on dollar basis have decreased by $67-94/mt. However, the seamless pipe market in Spain is still struggling due to low demand, which has been picking up slowly. Besides, seamless pipe suppliers will likely seek to raise their seamless pipe prices in the coming period due to the anticipated seasonal upturn in demand.
Current Spanish domestic prices for 2"-4" hot-formed seamless pipes, grade B made to ASTM A106, are at around €940-960/mt ($1,062-1,085/mt) ex-works.
Current export prices of Spanish seamless pipes, 2"-4" grade B according to ASTM A106, are varying at around €980-1,000/mt ($1,107-1,130/mt) FOB.
Prices for Chinese seamless pipes, 2"-6" grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L, are at about €640-690/mt ($723-780/mt) CFR Spain, exclusive of antidumping duties (in the range of 17.7-39.2 percent depending on the producer).
Offers of Ukrainian seamless pipes, 2"-6" grade B according to API 5L, are being given to Spain at €850-870/mt ($961-983/mt) CPT. Prices are shown exclusive of 13.8 percent antidumping duty.
Quotations of Italian seamless pipes, 2"-6" grade B made to ASTM A106, to Spain are at €1,020-1,050/mt ($1,152-1,187/mt) CPT.
