Compared to a month ago, US domestic ferrosilicon prices increased $180/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $168/mt from the top of the previous range. Sources report prices presently at $2,380-2,468/mt in-warehouse Pittsburgh.
A source noted that this range has held steady for the past two weeks since the increase early in the year. Additionally, while the price is expected to remain through the month on limited trades, prices may soften slightly into February reflecting the recent softer prices in the Chinese spot market.
