US domestic ferrochrome firms up

On March 19, SteelOrbis reported prices for US domestic high-carbon ferrochrome (6-8 percent carbon, 60-65 percent chromium, and maximum 2 percent silicon) trending up to $3,085-$3,262/mt in-warehouse Pittsburgh.

Sources inform SteelOrbis that spot activity is primarily composed of limited volumes at the moment. Prices have firmed up to $3,095-3,280/mt in-warehouse Pittsburgh. The new range reflects and increase of $10/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $18/mt from the top of the same range.
