On July 24, SteelOrbis reported US domestic ferrosilicon prices at $1,763-$1,807/mt in-warehouse Pittsburgh, after prices declined slightly through the month.

According to sources, US domestic ferrosilicon prices have now increased to $2,116-2,180/mt in-warehouse Pittsburgh, reflecting an increase of $353/mt from the bottom of the previously reported range and $373/mt from the top of the previously reported range. The strong surge in prices of slightly over 20 percent through the month is attributed to tight supply and higher prices in the Asian markets as replacement import pricing is factored.
