On June 5, SteelOrbis reported US domestic ferrosilicon prices at $1,810-1,876/mt in-warehouse Pittsburgh.
According to sources, the US ferrosilicon market has remained firm through the first flood of negotiations for Q3 and H2 deliveries, as a tight supply on material availability continues. Active spot prices for the last two weeks have been heard at $1,810-1,876/mt in-warehouse Pittsburgh. While quarterly negotiations were described as “heated” and “intense” by a source, prices held firm and the majority of larger volume deals traded on the upper side of the range.
Trading for the material is expected to reduce, but prices are not expected to shift down from the present range in upcoming trades due to the high replacement import costs.
