Turkish mills ship scrap prices fall further, just two mills in the market

As of today, May 13, there are still only two mills in Turkey’s ship scrap market accepting ship scrap in their yards. Their ship scrap procurement prices have moved down further by by $65-75/mt, with the general range now at $410-420/mt. Following the significant cut in ship scrap procurement prices, the flow to mills’ yards has come to a halt. A source from a mill said that, amid the absence of three mills in the region, prices have fallen to very low levels and the current quotations are not accepted by ship scrap sellers.
