Over the past week, ex-CIS pig iron offers to target markets have remained stable at $330-350/mt FOB. While no change has been observed on the supply side, prices inquiries from Italian buyers have increased and demand has improved slightly, according to market sources. Currently, ex-CIS pig iron offers to Italy are at $355/mt CIF, while buyers’ firm bids are at $350/mt CIF. However, CIS-based suppliers are unwilling to decrease their prices for now. Meanwhile, sales prices of ex-CIS pig iron in the US have decreased to $355-360/mt CFR due to discounts given during actual transactions last week and ex-CIS pig iron offers to the US are now in this range.
