Over the past week, ex-CIS pig iron offers have increased by $10/mt on the upper end to $335-365/mt FOB.

In the given period, CIS-based pig iron suppliers maintained their price offers to the US market at $370-380/mt CFR, though deals have continued to be concluded at $360-365/mt CFR since buyers consider the current prices to be on the high side and as demand has been slack.

According to market sources, no recovery has been observed in terms of demand for pig iron in Italy, though buyers there have continued to book small tonnages. Ex-CIS pig iron offers to the export markets have increased by $10/mt on the upper end week on week to $370-380/mt CFR, though no deals have been heard yet. Italian buyers’ firm bids for ex-CIS pig iron are still at $350-360/mt CFR, remaining unchanged week on week.

As for the Turkish market, no ex-CIS pig iron deals have been heard in the given period.
