Turkish merchant bar export prices

Demand for Turkish merchant bar in the export markets has decreased further during the past three weeks, remaining at weak levels, as buyers have considered Turkish merchant bar offers to be on the high side given the decreases seen in European producers’ merchant bar export prices. Besides the slackness of demand, merchant bar prices have decreased by $10/mt on the lower end in the given period also due to competitive price offers in export markets and the decreases seen in Chinese billet quotations.
