Turkish merchant bar export prices are standing at $730-750/mt, versus $750-770/mt two weeks ago, amid weaker scrap prices and relatively sluggish demand against the backdrop of the rapid currency fluctuations in the country. Merchant bar buyers in the European Union are taking their time to conclude new purchases ahead of the Christmas-New year holiday period.
Sources report slightly lower levels are on the table for serious buyers, mainly for February shipment.
