Local Turkish merchant bar prices have risen by TRY 460-705/mt ($25-38/mt) over the past week against the backdrop of higher import scrap and billet prices.
Most merchant bar sellers are offering for December delivery and only limited tonnages are available from stocks. A few re-rollers are offering their official HEA/HEB (100-200 mm, standard) at $870-900/mt ex-works.
Most local buyers are taking their time before concluding new purchases and are monitoring the import scrap price trend.
