Today, September 4, Turkish integrated mill Kardemir has reduced its wire rod prices by $10/mt as compared to its prices issued on Wednesday, July 23, amid the ongoing currency fluctuations and sluggish demand. According to sources, the mill has succeeded in selling around 25,000-30,000 mt of wire rod so far, though the final tonnage has not been confirmed by the time of publication.
Accordingly, Kardemir’s price for 5.5 mm SAE 1008-1010 grade wire rod stands at $570/mt ex-works, while its 6-27 mm wire rod of the same steel grade is offered at $555/mt ex-works. In addition, 28-56 mm wire rod of the same steel grade is offered at $575/mt ex-works.
The wire rod prices exclude 20 percent VAT.
