Today, February 18, Turkish integrated mill Kardemir has decreased its wire rod prices by $10/mt as compared to its prices issued on Wednesday, January 14, against the backdrop of ongoing currency fluctuations and sluggish demand ahead of Ramadan which begins tomorrow.
Accordingly, Kardemir’s price for 5.5 mm SAE 1008-1010 grade wire rod stands at $577/mt ex-works, while its 6-27 mm wire rod of the same steel grade is offered at $562/mt ex-works. In addition, 28-56 mm wire rod of the same steel grade is offered at $582/mt ex-works. It is rumored that around 5,000 mt of wire rod has been traded so far, though the final tonnage has not been confirmed by the time of publication.
The wire rod prices exclude 20 percent VAT.
