Turkey’s Icdas keeps its dollar-based longs prices stable

Today, January 10, Turkish steelmaker Icdas A.S. has kept its official rebar prices at TRY 11,580/mt ($710/mt) ex-works, up by TRY 270/mt a week ago amid currency fluctuations and the relatively positive sentiment in the import scrap segment. The supplier has also increased its wire rod price by TRY 300/mt to TRY 13,045/mt ($800/mt) ex-works over the same period. The producer has kept its dollar-based longs prices unchanged. Sources report a $10/mt discount is applicable for serious buyers only. According to sources, the transportation cost from Biga to Mardas port in Istanbul has also risen, by TRY 70/mt ($4/mt) to TRY 180/mt ($11/mt).
