German Salzgitter Group's Peine, Germany-based subsidiary Peiner Träger GmbH (PTG) announced today, November 16 that it has increased its European section prices by €30/mt ($41/mt), effective for all new orders for January 2012 deliveries, including the whole range of small, medium and heavy sections.
According to the company statement, the increase is driven by the anticipation of higher production costs in 2012. "European section stock levels are expected to be low at the end of 2011, so that in January demand should recover significantly," reads the statement.
