Following a period of stability at $590/mt, FOB conditions, since November 2017, Brazilian producers are now negotiating rebar for export at $620/mt, also FOB conditions, a local exporter told SteelOrbis.

He mentioned that the focus remains on the domestic market, where distributor sales prices are currently estimated at BRL 4,050/mt ($1,252/mt) ex-works, full taxes except IPI.

In January, ArcelorMittal exported rebar at $534/mt, Gerdau exported at $508/mt, and the Votorantim Group exported at $572/mt, all FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in November 2017.
