Nucor-Yamato follows scrap with $20/nt beam price decrease

Nucor-Yamato announced late Wednesday that effective immediately, the Raw Materials Surcharge (RMS) applicable to wide flange beams (WFB) will be $228/nt ($11.40 cwt. or $251/mt), representing a $22/nt ($1.10 cwt. or $24/mt) decrease from the April 1, 2013 surcharge.

Further, Nucor Yamato will increase the base price of WFB by $2/nt ($0.10 cwt. or $2.20/mt)--the net effect is an overall $20/nt ($1.00 cwt. or $22/mt) decrease in transaction prices, effective immediately.
