According to market sources, prices in the local Turkish billet market are currently in the range of $450-465/mt ex-works. Demand in the local Turkish billet market has showed no improvement over the past week, while it has been heard that regular purchases of 2,000-3,000 mt of billet have been concluded in the local market. However, besides that, transaction activity has failed to improve.

On the other hand, an ex-China deal has been heard in Turkey for nearly 40,000 mt of billets at approximately $410/mt CFR. If the ex-CIS billet deal concluded last week is taken into account, it may be said that prices in the Turkish import billet market are currently in the range of $410-415/mt CFR.
