Wire rod prices in Turkey have fallen by $40/mt in the Marmara region to come into line with the average wire rod price range in the rest of the country. Most suppliers are offering material for May-early June delivery.
One Iskenderun-based mill kept its wire rod price stable at $1,030/mt ex-works a week ago. Moreover, another supplier in the region has recently opened its wire rod sales at $1,070/mt ex-works for May delivery. Size availability is an issue depending on the supplier amid ongoing wire rod export shipments. In addition, some local buyers are taking their time before concluding new purchases in order to monitor the import scrap segment.
