While demand in the local Turkish rebar market is still at low levels, domestic rebar prices in Turkey have increased slightly today, September 23, except in the Iskenderun region, due to the Turkish lira losing strength against the US dollar.
Meantime, today, Turkish mill Icdas has kept its 12-32 mm rebar prices standing at TRY 2,415/mt ($422/mt) ex-works, while Izmir Demir Celik (IDC) has closed its domestic sales for 12-32 mm rebar with prices at TRY 2,390/mt ($418/mt) ex-works, both excluding VAT. IDC had opened this sale on Friday, September 20, while market sources report that IDC had sold more than 20,000 mt rebar before closing its sales.
