During the past two weeks, demand in the local Turkish merchant bar market has been weak amid the ongoing strong trend of the US dollar against the Turkish lira. However, prices in the market have increased by TRY30-120/mt, while rising by a smaller margin of $4-23/mt in dollar terms, compared to two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, in the local Turkish market merchant bar prices depending on size, thickness and region are at the following levels: small IPN-UPN are priced at TRY 1,320-1,360/mt ($491-506/mt), angles are at TRY 1,300-1,370/mt ($483-509/mt), while flat bars are at TRY 1,310-1,380/mt ($487-513/mt).
