Israeli buyers postpone rebar purchases

In the Israeli long steel market, rebar offers of local mills to their domestic market have remained at the previous week's levels of $780-790/mt + 16 percent VAT, ex-works, on actual weight basis and for advance payment. As SteelOrbis has already reported last week, demand in the Israeli rebar market remains slack amid the ongoing rainy weather; however, once the weather conditions get better, demand is expected to gain strength  again.

Turkish mills' rebar offers to the Israeli market have remained unchanged as compared to last week and are still at $690/mt CFR on actual weight basis. However, finding this price to be on the high side, Israeli buyers have not concluded any transaction at this level. Israeli buyers are currently adopting a wait-and-see stance and are closely following the trends in the Turkish rebar market.
