In the Israeli domestic long steel market, demand for rebar, which had been low recently due to poor weather conditions, has improved slightly in line with the amelioration of the weather.
In the Israeli rebar market, with the Israeli shekel weakening against the US dollar, mills have increased their local prices by $10/mt compared to the previous week, with their prices now standing at $790-800/mt ex-mills, on actual weight basis, for advance payment and excluding 16 percent VAT.
In the meantime, Turkish rebar offers to the Israeli market are at the level of $700/mt CFR on actual weight basis, but so far no transactions have been heard in the market.
SteelOrbis has heard that the Israeli rebar market is keeping a close eye on the Turkish and European steel markets and any price changes in these markets could influence local Israeli rebar prices as well as purchase activity in the Israeli market.
