SteelOrbis has been informed by market sources that CIS market players are still enjoying their New Year holiday and so no new export offers have been heard this week. The latest CIS wire rod export offers, given before the holiday period, were standing at $570-575/mt FOB Black Sea, while the most recent CIS wire rod offers to Europe were at $600-605/mt DAP. In addition, wire rod offers from the CIS to Turkey before the holiday stood at $585-590/mt CFR, though no deals have been heard at these levels.
Market sources indicate that new CIS wire rod export offers for February production will likely gain clarity after the holiday, which ends on January 13.
