Prices in the Turkish wire rod market have increased at different rates this week depending on regions and are now standing in the range of $605-630/mt ex-works. Market sources state that the market is quiet in terms of demand this week, while the consumption rate of finished products will diminish amid the cold weather and therefore the possibility of an increase in demand is low. Amid the ongoing strengthening of the US dollar against the Turkish lira, Turkish producers are not willing to decrease their prices though wire rod demand is weak. Turkish buyers are reported to be continuing their purchases of ex-CIS wire rod.
