Emsteel, the United Arab Emirates’ leading steel manufacturer, has confirmed that its rebar prices for January production will remain unchanged, reflecting stable market conditions and firm underlying demand. Market sources estimate monthly rebar consumption in the UAE at around 500,000-550,000 mt, broadly in line with recent months. Market sentiment remains decidedly positive, with demand expected to strengthen further in the months ahead, supported by sustained construction activity and rebar consumption projected to remain robust through the summer period.
For January output, the producer has retained its rebar pricing for 12-32 mm specifications at $720/mt (AED 2,644/mt) on ex-works basis, matching the levels recorded in the previous month. Similarly, offered prices have been maintained at $722/mt (AED 2,651/mt) CPT Abu Dhabi and $724/mt (AED 2,658/mt) CPT Dubai, Sharjah, and the Northern Emirates, applicable under 90-day letter of credit payment terms.
At the same time, other rebar manufacturers operating within the UAE have not yet published their revised price schedules. Nevertheless, market participants anticipate that these producers will set their prices broadly in line with Emsteel’s benchmarks, as the company’s pricing decisions traditionally serve as a reference point for the domestic steel market.
