Market sources report that Turkish wire rod export offers have softened by $5/mt since last week, declining to $585-595/mt FOB. Meanwhile, demand for Turkish wire rod on the export side is still weak, though some inquiries are coming from European markets. However, the soft trend of CIS and Chinese wire rod export offers have weakened the position of Turkish mills.
On the other hand, despite declines in scrap quotations, the strength of the US dollar against the Turkish lira provides support for Turkish mills' export prices.
