Market sources report that Turkish wire rod export offers have shown no changes since last week, remaining at $580-595/mt FOB. However, Turkish wire rod exporters may occasionally give offers at $570-575/mt FOB depending on buyers and order size.
Inquiries from the US for Turkish wire rod have reappeared after the antidumping duty petition filed by US mills against wire rod from China in previous days. Meanwhile, some Turkish mills have already started to give wire rod offers to the US, while Turkish offers will likely increase gradually and settle at competitive levels in the country if the US Department of Commerce decides to initiate an antidumping investigation against Chinese wire rod. In the meantime, 1050/1060 grade wire rod offers in the US are still standing at $750-772/mt ex-works, after the price hike of $28/mt made by US mills three weeks ago.
