Bulgarian domestic longs prices have mainly increased amid the stronger scrap compared to late March levels. Rebar offers have risen by BGN 10-30/mt (€5-15/mt) over the past month to BGN 1,150-1,200/mt (€588-614/mt) CPT. The price range is valid for offers from mills and local traders, either from stocks or for April deliveries. “Demand is pretty low as prices jumped by more than 100 percent compared to last year. Also pandemic is still there and most people are afraid to invest their money due to the unclear future in short-and mid-term,” one source mentioned.
In the wire rod segment, Bulgaria’s domestic prices have settled at BGN 1,180-1,250 (€603-639/mt) CPT, up by same BGN 10-30/mt (€5-15/mt) over the past month.
Merchant bars are available at BGN 1,280-1,340/mt (€654-685/mt) CPT, stable over the past month, while beam prices are now at BGN 1,400-1,500 (€716-767/mt) CPT, up by BGN 10-50/mt (€5-25/mt).
In the import segment, beam offers from Poland, Spain, Italy and Romania are available at €700/mt CPT, all for May delivery, SteelOrbis has learned. Ex-Turkey mixed merchant bar offers to Bulgaria are at €600/mt CFR, while beam offers are at €650-720/mt CFR Bulgaria depending on the size, both for June-July shipments. Also, ex-Ukraine angle and beam prices are standing at $730/mt FOB for June-July shipment. Rebar and wire rod offers to Bulgaria from Turkey are at $650-660/mt FOB and $710/mt FOB both for June-July shipments.
