Domestic billet prices in Iskenderun in Turkey’s southeast have weakened by $5/mt since earlier this week to $425-430/mt ex-works, SteelOrbis has learned. Moreover, market players report that for decent order volumes one can easily get $420/mt ex-works as of today, August 9. Some buyers are targeting even lower levels.

In the import segment, more and more buyers report offers at $420-422/mt CFR for September shipments, mainly coming from traders. Similar levels are also reported for ex-Rostov billet, SteelOrbis understands. Bids do not exceed $415-418/mt CFR depending on shipment terms and the supplier. Earlier this week, most offers from first-tier mills were at $430/mt CFR, with $5/mt discounts possible.
