A Turkish steel producer based in the Iskenderun region has freshly sold a large volume of square billet to the local market, with a $10/mt price increase. Accordingly, a total of 45,000 mt has recently been traded to a few buyers at $590/mt ex-works, up from $580/mt ex-works fixed in deals earlier this week. Despite the increase, the price is still more favorable compared to import offers. This week, traders were offering at $595-600/mt CFR Iskenderun, while the most recent offers from the large CIS-based mills have been reported at $ 600/mt FOB and above, with freight estimated at $25/mt on average.
