US domestic plate prices inch upward

SteelOrbis has confirmed that US domestic plate prices have risen in the past week, from a range of $31-$32 cwt. ($683-$705/mt or $620-$640/nt) ex-mill, to approximately $33 cwt. ($728/mt or $660/nt), ex-mill.

Sources say that while prices have inched upward, current price points are still far below where mills were hoping to push the spot market with mills’ recent increases.
