Although some buyers in the local Turkish pre-painted
galvanized (PPGI) coil market have accelerated their purchases in the current week with the expectation of an increase in
coated coil prices in line with the slight rises recorded in hot rolled coil (HRC) quotations last week, most buyers have maintained their cautious stance and have continued their purchases only in line with their needs. Under these circumstances, demand in the local Turkish PPGI market has remained unchanged during the past week and is still at low levels.
Turkish mills' local prices have remained stable during the past week, with RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-
coated PPGI falling to $900-955/mt, RAL 9002 0.5 mm to $750-780/mt and prices for 1 mm RAL 9002 to $640-695/mt. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.
Meanwhile, Turkish mills' PPGI export quotations have also moved sideways over the past week at $740-770/mt FOB with demand for Turkish PPGI in the international markets remaining at low levels.
