Over the past week, demand in the local Turkish pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) market has remained weak, while prices have declined by $10/mt on the upper end. According to market sources, Turkish buyers prefer to make bookings only to meet their immediate needs due to the downward movement of global flat steel prices and ongoing international trade tensions.
Accordingly, Turkish producers' domestic PPGI prices are now at $1,040-1,100/mt for RAL 9002 0.3 mm 100 gr/m² zinc-coated PPGI, at $880-935/mt for RAL 9002 0.5 mm PPGI and at $770-840/mt for RAL 9002 1 mm PPGI. All the offers in question are on ex-works basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.
Meanwhile, Turkish PPGI offers to the export markets have also decreased by $10/mt on the upper end week on week to $880-930/mt FOB.
