Over the past week, demand in the local Turkish hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil market has remained weak, though demand for Turkish HDG in the export markets has been lively. Market sources state that they expect Turkish mills to increase their HDG prices for the domestic market in the short term since domestic producers have raised their prices of hot rolled coil (HRC), which is used as raw material in HDG production, and are likely to continue raising their offers.
Accordingly, domestic producers’ HDG prices in the local Turkish market, excluding 18 percent VAT, are unchanged at the following levels:
Product |
Price ($/mt) |
Weekly change ($/mt) |
HDG 0.50 mm 100gr/m² |
780-790 |
- |
HDG 1 mm 100gr/m² |
720-755 |
- |
HDG 2 mm 100gr/m² |
675-680 |
- |
Meanwhile, Turkish mills’ HDG export quotations have remained stable week on week at $770-790/mt FOB.
