Amid the sluggish demand which has continued since early September, price cuts have become a possibility in the Turkish hot dip galvanized (HDG) market which so far has been moving on a neutral price trend. At the same time, local HDG mills have started to give discounts of up to $10-15/mt for high volume purchases. The market is not likely to see a positive atmosphere in the near term against the background of China's domination of the international coated steel market and weak domestic demand.

On the export side, Turkish export offers for 0.50 mm 100gr/m² zinc coated HDG coils to certain Middle Eastern markets are still standing at $810-820/mt ex-works for October production.
